“His consistent performances have made him one of the favorites in Eastbourne”
British tennis star Jack Draper continued his impressive comeback by reaching the semi-finals of the Eastbourne Open with a comfortable 6-1, 6-4 victory over Canada’s Gabriel Diallo.
The 24-year-old returned to action this week after missing nearly two months with a knee injury. Draper looked confident throughout the match, winning seven consecutive games at one stage and controlling the contest from start to finish.
His run to the semi-finals includes straight-set victories over Marcos Giron, Jack Pinnington Jones, and Gabriel Diallo. The strong performances have given Draper valuable match practice and confidence ahead of Wimbledon, which begins next week.
Speaking after the match, Draper said he was happy to be back competing and proud of the level he showed on court after such a long break.
He will now face France’s Ugo Humbert in the semi-finals as he looks to reach his first Eastbourne Open final and continue his excellent return from injury.
