“The victory adds excitement to the 2026 UCI World Tour and sets up a dramatic finale”

French cyclist Dorian Godon won stage seven of the 2026 Paris‑Nice race. The organisers shortened the stage due to severe weather in the Alps. Originally planned as a challenging mountain stage, the route was cut to 47 kilometres, finishing in Isola‑Village because of heavy rain and snow.

Godon held off Biniam Girmay in a sprint finish to take the victory. Dutch rider Cees Bol finished third. Snow and low temperatures made the stage extremely tough for all riders.

Race leader Jonas Vingegaard avoided crashes and kept his lead in the general classification despite the harsh conditions. The stage caused some controversy, as organisers revised the route several times to ensure rider safety.

The win adds another highlight to the Paris‑Nice race, part of the 2026 UCI World Tour. It sets up an exciting finale as riders continue to fight for overall honours.
