“His leadership and competitive spirit shaped every team he represented”

Chris Paul has retired from the NBA after an outstanding 21-year career. The 40-year-old point guard announced his decision during All-Star Weekend, calling his journey in basketball “an unbelievable blessing” and thanking his family, teammates, and fans.

Paul played for several teams, including the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, and others. He earned the nickname “Point God” because of his smart play, leadership, and ability to control the game.

He was selected to 12 All-Star games, made 11 All-NBA teams, and won Rookie of the Year in 2006. Paul also ranks second all-time in assists and steals, showing his lasting impact on the league. He won two Olympic gold medals with Team USA in 2008 and 2012.

Although he never won an NBA championship, he reached the Finals with the Phoenix Suns in 2021 and came very close to lifting the trophy. Chris Paul leaves the sport as one of the greatest point guards in basketball history and a future Hall of Famer.
