“With composure and precision, Hill positions himself for a third DP World Tour title.”
Scotland’s Calum Hill shot a brilliant 61 (11 under par) in the second round of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship to take the solo lead at 16 under at the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain. He equalled the course record, making 11 birdies and no bogeys, giving him a four-shot advantage over his nearest rival, Germany’s Freddy Schott.
Hill’s round featured five birdies on the front nine and six on the back, combining accurate tee shots with precise putting. His consistent play and composure under pressure have put him in a strong position to challenge for his third DP World Tour title, following wins at the 2021 Cazoo Classic and the 2025 Joburg Open.
Freddy Schott sits second on 12 under, while France’s Ugo Coussaud is third on nine under. American Patrick Reed also impressed with a 5-under 67, moving up the leaderboard, but remained ten strokes behind Hill. Other notable players, including Sergio Garcia, are also in contention as the tournament heads into the weekend.
Hill’s hot round has made him the player to watch, and fans are eagerly anticipating whether he can convert his stunning start into a victory in Bahrain.
