Zhou Signs with Cadillac as F1 Reserve Driver

"He will support testing and help optimize the team’s performance ahead of their debut."

Zhou Guanyu has joined Cadillac as a reserve driver for the 2026 Formula 1 season. The 26-year-old Chinese driver previously competed in 68 Grands Prix with Alfa Romeo, scoring points in multiple races.

Cadillac, which will make its F1 debut in 2026, will use Ferrari power units and gearboxes, making Zhou’s recent experience with Ferrari valuable to the team. The main race drivers for Cadillac will be Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas, while Colton Herta will serve as a test driver and compete in Formula 2 this season.

Zhou expressed his excitement about joining Cadillac, saying it felt like “rejoining family.” Cadillac Team Principal Graeme Lowdon praised Zhou’s experience and technical knowledge, noting it will help the new team develop quickly.

Zhou remains China’s first and only Formula 1 driver, and his presence also strengthens Cadillac’s visibility in key global markets.
