"The championship battle continues to intensify as every point becomes more valuable"

Kimi Antonelli secured a memorable victory at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, delivering a strong performance for Mercedes at the challenging Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The Italian driver completed the 44-lap race with a winning margin of 1.952 seconds over Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, while Max Verstappen finished third.

Antonelli started the race from pole position after setting a qualifying time of 1:44.361. Although he lost the lead briefly at the start, he stayed focused and continued fighting at the front. His strong pace and race management helped him regain the advantage during the later stages.

The Mercedes driver produced consistent lap times throughout the race and handled pressure from his rivals during the final laps. His performance on Spa’s demanding corners and high-speed sections played a key role in securing the victory.

The win marked another important achievement in Antonelli’s 2026 season and strengthened his position among the leading Formula 1 drivers. Mercedes also celebrated a major success despite a difficult race for teammate George Russell, who retired early. The result highlighted Antonelli’s growth in Formula 1.
