Verstappen Clinches US Grand Prix Sprint Pole Ahead of Norris

Max Verstappen secured pole position for the US Grand Prix sprint race in Austin, Texas, narrowly beating Lando Norris by just 0.071 seconds. He set the fastest lap of 1:32.143, denying Norris, who had been fastest in earlier sessions. Oscar Piastri, the current championship leader, qualified third, around four-tenths slower than Verstappen.

This marks Verstappen’s 10th career sprint pole and his third consecutive at the Circuit of the Americas. The result gives him momentum in the title fight, as he trails Piastri in the standings.

Nico Hülkenberg and George Russell completed the top five, while Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz Jr., Lewis Hamilton, Alexander Albon, and Charles Leclerc made up the rest of the top ten.

Verstappen will start at the front in the sprint race, giving him a strong chance to score important championship points, while other drivers will aim to challenge him on the fast, technical Circuit of the Americas track.
