Jenson Button Joins Aston Martin After Leaving Williams

Former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button has officially left his ambassador role at Williams and joined Aston Martin as the team’s new Formula 1 Ambassador ahead of the 2026 season.

Button, who won the 2009 F1 Drivers’ Championship, previously worked with Williams from 2021 to 2025 as an ambassador and adviser. In his new role at Aston Martin, he will support the team’s media, partner, and commercial activities, helping boost the team’s global profile.

This move also reconnects Button with Honda, Aston Martin’s engine partner for 2026. Button earned his first F1 win with Honda in 2006 and won his World Championship in 2009 with a Honda-powered car.

Button said he is “excited to join Aston Martin during a transformative time” and looks forward to contributing his experience to the team. Aston Martin officials praised Button’s experience, global recognition, and connection with fans as valuable for the team’s future.

This marks another chapter in Button’s career after retiring from professional racing following the 2025 season.
