"Fans can look forward to more high-speed battles at the famous Catalan track in the years ahead"

Formula 1 has confirmed that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will stay on the F1 calendar until 2032 under a new multi-year agreement. The famous Spanish track will continue to host races, but not every season.

Under the new plan, Barcelona will share its place with Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Barcelona will host races in 2026, 2028, 2030 and 2032. Spa will take the other years. This rotation keeps both historic tracks on the calendar while F1 expands worldwide.

Organisers will rename the race the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. At the same time, Madrid will host the Spanish Grand Prix each year on a new street circuit, marking a new era for F1 in Spain.

Barcelona has hosted Formula 1 since 1991. Drivers and teams respect the circuit for its technical and demanding layout. Track officials recently upgraded the facilities, and strong fan support helped secure the extension.

Fans can expect more top-level racing at the iconic venue through 2032. The deal keeps one of Europe’s classic circuits firmly in Formula 1’s future plans.
