Aston Martin has been found in breach of Formula 1’s cost cap regulations for the 2024 season. The FIA described the violation as a “very minor” procedural error and confirmed that the team acted in good faith.
The breach occurred because one of Aston Martin’s financial documents was missing a signature and was submitted after the March 31, 2025 deadline. The team corrected the issue promptly once the signature was obtained. The FIA noted that, aside from this technical issue, Aston Martin complied with all cost cap requirements.
As a result, Aston Martin will not face any financial or sporting penalties. The team has agreed to cover the costs incurred by the FIA in preparing the Accepted Breach Agreement (ABA) to resolve the matter.
The 2024 cost cap was set at $165 million. All other teams, including power unit manufacturers, were found to be in compliance. This minor breach highlights the strict documentation requirements teams must follow under F1’s cost cap rules.
