Zimbabwe Joins Pakistan Tri-Nation T20 Series, Replacing Afghanistan

Zimbabwe will replace Afghanistan in the upcoming Pakistan T20I Tri-Nation Series, scheduled from November 17 to 29, 2025. The series will now feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, with matches set to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The change ensures the tournament continues smoothly despite unforeseen circumstances.

Afghanistan withdrew from the tournament following the tragic deaths of three Afghan cricketers in an airstrike in Paktika province. The Afghanistan Cricket Board described the incident as a devastating loss and confirmed their withdrawal as a mark of respect.

The tri-series will follow a double round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final. Zimbabwe’s inclusion adds fresh competition and keeps the tournament exciting.

The opening match is set for November 17 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Cricket fans can expect competitive games as teams use the series to prepare for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
