Galle Gallants continued their impressive start to the 2026 Lanka Premier League with a five-wicket victory over Colombo Kaps in Match 3 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on 18 July. The win gave the Gallants their second consecutive victory of the tournament and strengthened their position near the top of the standings.

After winning the toss, Colombo Kaps chose to bat first and posted 189/8 in their 20 overs. Their batters built a competitive total with valuable contributions, but Galle's bowlers kept the scoring under control during the closing stages of the innings to limit the target.

Chasing 190, Galle Gallants batted confidently and maintained the required run rate throughout the innings. They reached 191/5 in 19.2 overs, completing the chase with four balls remaining to secure a comfortable five-wicket victory.

The result moved Galle Gallants to two wins from two matches, making them the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far. Colombo Kaps, meanwhile, will look to recover quickly as they prepare for their next Lanka Premier League fixture and aim to register their first win of the season.
