Shubman Gill, 26, has quickly risen through Indian cricket. He already captains the Test team and serves as vice-captain in T20 Internationals. He has scored over 2,700 runs in ODIs at an average above 59, making him a natural leader for the 50-over format.

India’s squad for the Australia tour includes Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, adding experience to the team. Shreyas Iyer will serve as vice-captain for the series. The tour features three ODIs followed by five T20 Internationals, giving India a chance to test leadership and team strategies before the 2027 World Cup.
