Marc Marquez reinforced his status as the “King of Sachsenring” by claiming his ninth MotoGP victory at the German Grand Prix, a milestone that also marked his 200th start in the premier class. With this win, Marquez extended his championship lead to 83 points ahead of his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who finished an impressive second despite recently recovering from hand surgery.

Starting from pole position, Marc wasted no time taking the lead at turn one and quickly built a comfortable gap. Meanwhile, the race turned into a survival battle behind him as several riders crashed at the challenging first corner, including Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, and Johann Zarco. The incidents reduced the field drastically, with only 10 of the 18 starters crossing the finish line.

Alex Marquez rode a strong and determined race in his 100th MotoGP start, holding off competition despite his injury. Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia capitalized on the chaos to take third place on the podium, further tightening the battle for the championship.

Marquez’s weekend was flawless, having already secured victory in the sprint race earlier. He celebrated his fourth straight double-win weekend with his iconic finish line celebration, standing on his bike and doing a victory jig. As the season now reaches its halfway point, Marquez looks confident and well-positioned to continue his championship campaign.
