"Pressure moments were handled with surprising maturity by the lower middle order"
Bangladesh created history in Mirpur. They won their first-ever ODI series against Australia by five wickets in the second match. They had already won the first ODI, earning their first 50-over victory over Australia in 21 years.
In the second ODI, Australia scored 187/8 in 42 overs before rain stopped play. Bangladesh got a revised target of 192 in 41 overs. Tanzid Hasan was dismissed for a duck, giving Bangladesh an early setback. Soumya Sarkar (42) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (41) rebuilt the innings with an 86-run partnership.
Bangladesh stayed calm after losing quick wickets. Towhid Hridoy (40*) and captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz (22*) guided the team to victory. They finished the chase with six overs remaining.
Australia lost three wickets without scoring a run, which put them under heavy pressure. Marnus Labuschagne (55*) and Xavier Bartlett (52) later recovered the innings. However, the total was not enough to stop Bangladesh from sealing a famous series win.
