"Australia showed that teamwork and resilience can turn even the toughest challenges into historic victories."

Alyssa Healy produced a stunning innings to guide Australia to a historic victory over India in the Women’s ODI World Cup. Chasing a daunting total of 331, Australia reached 331 for 7 in 49 overs, completing the highest successful run chase in women’s ODI history.

Healy led the charge with an explosive 142 off 107 balls, hitting 21 fours and 3 sixes. Her innings anchored the chase and inspired her teammates. Ellyse Perry contributed an unbeaten 47, helping Australia cross the finish line despite a challenging target.

Australia’s bowling, led by Annabel Sutherland’s 5/40, had earlier restricted India to 330, despite strong starts from Smriti Mandhana (80) and Pratika Rawal (75). India’s middle and lower order collapsed under pressure, allowing Australia to chase the record total.

“This was a special team effort, and to pull off such a chase is incredible,” Healy said after the match. Her performance not only secured a remarkable win but also propelled Australia to the top of the group stage standings.
