“Lewke will lead a coaching staff focused on strengthening Sri Lanka’s rugby development”
Dushanth Lewke is the new head coach of the Sri Lanka national rugby union team. The appointment comes as the team prepares for upcoming international competitions.
Lewke previously captained Sri Lanka and built a strong reputation as a coach. He recently guided CR & FC to a successful domestic season, which highlighted his coaching ability.
The national team now prepares for a busy international schedule. One of the key events is the Asia Rugby Top 4 tournament. Sri Lanka will face strong teams such as Hong Kong, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
Lewke will work with an experienced coaching staff. Henry Terance will serve as the forwards coach, while Lasintha de Costa will act as assistant coach. Tharanga Premakumara joins the team as physiotherapist. Vishvamithra Jayasinghe will handle strength and conditioning duties.
Sri Lanka Rugby expects Lewke to strengthen the national team and improve performances in regional competitions. The appointment also supports the long-term development of rugby in the country.
