“Malen brings experience from top European leagues and international play.”
Roma have completed the signing of Dutch forward Donyell Malen from Aston Villa. The deal is a loan with an option to buy, which could become mandatory depending on certain conditions.
Malen, 26, has played for clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Borussia Dortmund, and Aston Villa. During his one season at Villa, he made 46 appearances and scored 10 goals but often struggled for regular starts under manager Unai Emery.
At Roma, Malen will wear the number 14 shirt and is expected to strengthen the team’s attack under coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The club hopes he will get more playing time and become a key player in Serie A as they push for higher league positions and success in European competitions. The move also gives Roma extra options in attack during a busy season.
Malen has also represented the Netherlands national team and brings pace, skill, and goal-scoring ability to Roma’s forward line. Fans are eager to see how he adapts to Italian football and if he can rediscover the form that made him one of Europe’s top young forwards.
