“Safety concerns prompted swift action from both boards to adjust the schedule.”

Sri Lanka is touring Pakistan for cricket, but the schedule has changed after a security incident in Islamabad. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) moved the remaining two ODIs from November 13 and 15 to November 14 and 16 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

A suicide bombing in Islamabad raised safety concerns among players. Some Sri Lankan cricketers considered returning home, but Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) asked the team to continue the tour. SLC promised to send replacements if needed.

The PCB and Pakistani authorities increased security and deployed extra forces to protect the players.

After the ODI series, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe will play the Tri-Nation T20 Series from November 18 to 29 in Rawalpindi.

Both boards remain committed to completing the tour. They stress the importance of strong cricketing ties between the two nations.
