“Experts believe the subcontinent’s passion for cricket will make this World Cup unforgettable.”

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the venues for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. India and Sri Lanka will co-host the tournament from February 7 to March 8, 2026.

Twenty teams will take part in this edition. The tournament will follow the same format as 2024, with group-stage matches, Super 8s, and knockout rounds leading to the final.

India will host games in major cities such as Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi. Sri Lanka will stage matches in Colombo, Kandy, and possibly Galle, bringing a blend of historic and modern venues.

Reports say Pakistan will play its matches in Sri Lanka because of political tensions between the two countries. This decision ensures fair and smooth hosting for every team.

India and Sri Lanka qualify automatically as hosts. The other teams will earn their spots through performance and regional qualifiers organized by the ICC.

The 2026 edition will be the 10th ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It will also be the first time India and Sri Lanka join hands to host the tournament, promising a month of exciting cricket and passionate crowds.
