The Asidisi cricket team from the Ministry of Health and Mass Media will head to India on November 16 for the South Asian Great Cricket Steps Senior Men’s Championship. The T20 tournament runs from November 16 to 21 in Andhra Pradesh and will feature teams from across South Asia.
Asidisi began in 2007 as a softball team and switched to leather-ball cricket in 2016. Since then, the team has achieved many milestones. They won the Public Service Championship in 2023, became Joint Champions in 2024, and finished as Runners-up in 2025.
The players have also represented Sri Lanka in previous tours to India and Malaysia, earning several victories abroad.
This year, Litro Gas Lanka Limited, Green Life Plantation, Slim Pharmaceutical (Pvt) Ltd, and The Chance Sports are supporting the team.
Asidisi aim to perform with pride and bring glory to Sri Lanka in this year’s regional championship.
