India defeated Pakistan by 88 runs in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The win put India at the top of the points table and continued their perfect World Cup record against Pakistan.
Batting first, India scored 247 in 50 overs. Harleen Deol made 46, Pratika Rawal 31, Smriti Mandhana 23, and Richa Ghosh 35 not out off 20 balls. Pakistan’s Diana Baig took four wickets.
Chasing 248, Pakistan managed 159 in 43 overs. Sidra Amin top-scored with 50. Deepti Sharma and Kranti Gaud took three wickets each, while Sneh Rana claimed two.
The match saw some disruptions, including a controversial run-out of Muneeba Ali and a brief delay due to flying insects. Despite this, India stayed focused and won convincingly.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur praised her team, saying, “I’m sure everyone back home is proud of us.” This marked India’s third consecutive win and strengthened their spot in the knockout stages.
