“This increase shows the growing recognition and support for women’s cricket worldwide.”

The ICC has announced record prize money for the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. This makes it the richest tournament in women’s cricket history.

The total prize pool is USD 13.88 million, nearly four times higher than the 2022 edition. It also surpasses the USD 10 million offered in the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup.

The winning team will receive USD 4.48 million. The runners-up will get USD 2.24 million. The two losing semi-finalists will each earn USD 1.12 million.

Each participating team is guaranteed USD 250,000. Teams also earn USD 34,314 for every group-stage win. Teams finishing 5th or 6th will get USD 700,000, while 7th and 8th place teams receive USD 280,000.

ICC Chair Jay Shah called the announcement a “landmark moment for women’s cricket.” He said it shows that women cricketers will be treated on par with men.

The 2025 Women’s World Cup will be the 13th edition and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament starts on September 30 with India playing Sri Lanka in Guwahati and ends on November 2.
