“A complete team performance earned England a deserved place in the championship final”
England secured their place in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final after a comfortable 40-run victory over South Africa in the second semi-final at The Oval in London.
Batting first, England lost three early wickets and were reduced to 23/3. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt rescued the innings with a brilliant 75 from 47 balls, while Heather Knight scored 58 from 47 deliveries. Their 133-run partnership lifted England to 169/5 in 20 overs.
South Africa made a steady start to the chase, but England’s bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Tazmin Brits top-scored with 51, but lacked support from the rest of the batting order.
Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean claimed two wickets each as South Africa finished on 129/8, handing England a convincing victory.
The win sends England into their first Women’s T20 World Cup final since 2018. They will now face Australia in the final as they chase their first T20 World Cup title since 2009.
