Northampton Beat Leicester in Derby Thriller to Reach Premiership Final

Northampton Saints secured their place in the Premiership final after a high-scoring 45–31 win over Leicester Tigers in a thrilling East Midlands derby semi-final.

Saints made a fast start with an early try from Tom Litchfield, who went on to complete a hat-trick. Leicester responded quickly through Hanro Liebenberg and Freddie Steward, keeping the contest tight in the opening stages.

The first half stayed an open, attacking battle, with Tommy Freeman and Ollie Hassell-Collins also getting on the scoresheet. Litchfield’s third try helped Northampton go into halftime leading 26–19.

In the second half, captain George Furbank made a big impact in his final home appearance, scoring twice to push Saints further ahead. Leicester continued to fight back with tries from Hassell-Collins and Orlando Bailey.

Northampton, however, managed the game well in the closing stages and held their advantage to secure a place in the final at Twickenham.
