Medvedev Claims Dubai Crown After Griekspoor Retires

Daniil Medvedev won the 2026 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships after Tallon Griekspoor withdrew from the final with a left hamstring injury. Griekspoor picked up the injury during his semifinal match and could not recover in time to play the final. As a result, officials awarded the title to Medvedev.

Even though the final did not take place, Medvedev impressed throughout the tournament. He reached the final without dropping a set. In the semifinals, he defeated top seed Félix Auger-Aliassime with a strong performance. Medvedev said he preferred to win on court, but he felt satisfied with his level during the week.
