Jonas Vingegaard claimed his first-ever Paris-Nice title with a dominant performance in the 2026 edition.

The Danish rider completed the race with a total time of 25 hours 25 minutes 11 seconds, finishing well ahead of his closest rivals. His victory was built during the middle stages, especially in Stage 5, where he launched a powerful solo attack to create a big gap in the general classification.

From that point, Vingegaard controlled the race with consistent riding and strong climbing. Even with difficult weather conditions and crashes affecting other competitors, he remained steady and avoided trouble.

On the final stage in Nice, Lenny Martinez won after beating Vingegaard in a sprint. However, Vingegaard’s overall lead was never under threat, allowing him to safely secure the title.

In the final standings, Dani Martínez finished second, 4 minutes and 23 seconds behind, while Georg Steinhauser took third place.

This victory is a major milestone for Vingegaard, especially after he had to abandon the race the previous year. His performance confirms his status as one of the strongest riders in stage racing today.
