"Australia’s presence in freestyle skiing continues to grow through her breakthrough season."

Australian teenage skier Indra Brown continued her rapid rise by winning World Cup gold in the freeski halfpipe event in Calgary, Canada.

The 15-year-old delivered a confident opening run and scored 85.20. No other competitor matched her score. The result gave Brown her first World Cup victory and made her the youngest Australian to win World Cup gold.

China’s Zhang Kexin finished second, while American skier Svea Irving took third place. The win came in only Brown’s third World Cup appearance this season. She had already claimed bronze in China and silver in the United States.

This victory moved Brown to the top of the World Cup halfpipe standings. It also strengthened her chances of selection for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan–Cortina. Her strong performances continue to mark her as one of Australia’s most exciting young winter sports talents.
