Akalanka Peiris Becomes Sri Lanka’s Leading FINA Point Scorer

Sri Lankan swimmer Akalanka Peiris became the country’s top FINA point scorer after an impressive performance. He scored 716 FINA points in the 50m backstroke, the highest in the national team.

Peiris returned to national competitions after a three-year break. He won gold medals in the 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke. He also won gold in the 200m individual medley and silver in the 100m individual medley.

Peiris trains in Melbourne, Australia. He continues to improve his skills and represent Sri Lanka in international events. Over his career, he has won more than 400 medals and set many national records. He competed in the Youth Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World Aquatics Championships.

This achievement establishes Akalanka Peiris as one of Sri Lanka’s top swimmers. He also stands out as a rising star in international swimming.
