“The greatest victories often come after overcoming the toughest moments”

Linda Noskova captured her first Grand Slam title after defeating fellow Czech Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the 2026 Wimbledon women’s singles final at Centre Court.

Noskova made a flying start and dominated the opening set 6-2 with powerful serving and confident baseline play. She looked set to win in straight sets after building a 5-2 lead in the second set, but Muchova produced a remarkable comeback by saving five championship points before taking the set 7-5.

The deciding set delivered another twist as Noskova quickly regained her composure. The 21-year-old broke Muchova’s serve at a crucial moment and stayed in control to seal a 6-3 victory, completing one of the biggest wins of her career.

The triumph earned Noskova her maiden Grand Slam title and made her the sixth Czech woman to win the Wimbledon singles crown in the Open Era. She also climbed to a career-high world ranking of No. 7 following her memorable success, marking a major milestone in her young career.

Muchova’s determined fightback made the final a thrilling contest, but Noskova held her nerve when it mattered most to lift the famous Venus Rosewater Dish for the first time. The victory also capped off an outstanding fortnight at the All England Club.
