“One decisive attack in the final metres proved enough to beat the world’s best sprinters”

Søren Wærenskjold secured his first-ever Tour de France stage win after a brilliant performance in Stage 11 of the 2026 race.

The Norwegian rider dominated the final moments of the 161.3 km stage from Vichy to Nevers, which became the fastest road stage in Tour de France history with an average speed of 50.9 km/h.

Wærenskjold showed excellent timing and power in the closing kilometres, launching his sprint at the perfect moment to break away from the chasing riders. He crossed the finish line ahead of Olav Kooij and Milan Fretin to claim a memorable victory for Uno-X Mobility.

The achievement was even more impressive after Wærenskjold suffered a crash the previous day. Despite the setback, he recovered quickly and produced one of the strongest performances of his career.

The victory marks a major milestone for the 26-year-old cyclist and gives Uno-X Mobility another important moment on cycling’s biggest stage. Wærenskjold’s speed, confidence, and powerful finish made him the standout rider of the record-breaking stage.
