“Every series win becomes a foundation for greater confidence in the matches ahead”
Zimbabwe claimed a memorable 2-1 ODI series victory over Bangladesh despite a seven-wicket defeat in the third and final match at Harare Sports Club. The hosts won the opening two matches, which secured the series before the final game.
Bangladesh delivered a strong all-round performance in the last ODI. Shoriful Islam led the bowling attack with four wickets and helped restrict Zimbabwe to 199. Dion Myers top-scored for the hosts with 51 runs.
Bangladesh’s openers took control of the chase from the start. Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored a brilliant 94, while Soumya Sarkar added 69. Their partnership guided Bangladesh to 200/3 in just 36 overs and secured a comfortable victory.
Despite the loss, Zimbabwe celebrated the series win after their impressive performances in the first two ODIs. Bangladesh ended the tour on a positive note by avoiding a series whitewash, but Zimbabwe walked away with the trophy.
