Zimbabwe pulled off an impressive six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in their Group B match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Sri Lanka batted first and posted 178 for 7 in their 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka led the scoring with 62 off 41 balls, while Pavan Rathnayake added a useful 44. However, Zimbabwe’s bowlers kept things under control in the final overs, with Blessing Muzarabani and Brad Evans taking important wickets.
In reply, Zimbabwe chased the target confidently and reached 182 for 4 in 19.3 overs. Brian Bennett anchored the innings with an unbeaten 63 off 48 balls. Captain Sikandar Raza played a crucial knock of 45 off 26 deliveries and was named Player of the Match for his all-round impact.
