Sri Lanka’s hopes of qualifying for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup suffered a major setback after a heavy 4–0 defeat to Thailand in Colombo. Sri Lanka is still mathematically alive in the race, but they now need near-perfect results in the remaining matches—along with help from other teams—to keep their qualification dream alive.
