“Officials hope the event will boost motorsport infrastructure and inspire the next generation of drivers.”
Sri Lanka will host the 2025 Asia Pacific Motorsport Championship (APMC) for the first time. The event will run from 26th to 28th September at the Speedbay Karting Circuit in Bandaragama. This track is the country’s only one built to FIA-CIK standards.
The championship will include over 200 competitors from more than 20 countries, including Australia, India, and Korea. Drivers will compete in six disciplines: Karting Sprint, Karting Endurance, Karting Slalom, Auto Gymkhana, Cross Car Autocross, and E-Sports racing.
The Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC) organizes the event, and the FIA sanctions it. The championship will place Sri Lanka firmly on the international motorsport map. Local drivers and teams will get a unique chance to compete against top talent from the Asia-Pacific region.
Officials expect the championship to boost Sri Lanka’s motorsport infrastructure. They also hope it will encourage youth participation and attract motorsport fans and tourists. The event promises high-octane action, skillful driving, and a celebration of motorsport culture.
