“A new leadership, a new vision — Sri Lanka Rugby looks forward to a promising future.”

Pavithra Fernando will lead Sri Lanka Rugby as its new President. The Annual General Meeting at the Duncan White Auditorium of the Sports Ministry complex hosted the election, with key officials, players, and stakeholders attending.

Fernando, a former captain of Sri Lanka and the Ceylonese Rugby & Football Club, won the position uncontested. The rugby community strongly supported his election.

The leadership team now includes Shanitha Fernando as Deputy President, Chinthaka Perera as Vice President, Subash Jayatilaka as General Secretary, Neomal Ekanayake as Treasurer, Thilini Rangani as Female Representative, and Stephan Gregory as Athlete Representative.

The team plans to develop grassroots programs, improve domestic competitions, and boost Sri Lanka’s presence in international rugby. They aim to strengthen the sport and inspire the next generation of players.
