“Other nations now know Sri Lanka’s strengths, making this year’s tournament a true test of skill and strategy.”
Sri Lanka are ready to defend their title at the Hong Kong International Sixes cricket tournament, starting tomorrow at Mong Kok Stadium. Lahiru Madushanka will lead the team with one clear goal — to keep the crown they won last year by beating Pakistan.
Madushanka said the squad feels confident and focused. He added that this year’s challenge will be tougher because other teams now understand Sri Lanka’s style. “Last year, many teams didn’t know how we play. Now they’ve studied us, so we must stay one step ahead,” he said.
The team includes new all-rounder Sachitha Jayathilake, who brings fresh energy and balance to the side.
Sri Lanka share Group D with Bangladesh and Hong Kong, China. Twelve countries are competing this year, and the top two from each group will move to the semi-finals.
The Cup, Plate, and Bowl finals will take place on November 9. Sri Lanka believe their teamwork, spirit, and determination can bring another title home.
