“Winning while learning is always a positive. Argentina pushed us to our limits.”
South Africa’s Springboks have made history by winning the Rugby Championship for the second year in a row. They clinched the 2025 title with a close 29–27 victory over Argentina at Twickenham on October 4.
Cobus Reinach and Malcolm Marx played key roles, each scoring important tries, with Marx scoring twice in the second half. Despite Argentina taking an early lead, South Africa held on to secure the win.
The Springboks finished the tournament tied on points with New Zealand, but their superior points difference (+57) gave them the championship.
Captain Siya Kolisi praised head coach Rassie Erasmus for instilling resilience and focus in the team. Reinach, named Man of the Match, said the back-to-back win was “unreal” and a proud moment for South African rugby.
This victory marks South Africa’s sixth Rugby Championship title and adds another chapter to the team’s impressive history in the tournament.
