“Despite early control, India lose grip as South Africa build smart partnerships throughout the chase”

South Africa pulled off an incredible 4-wicket victory against India by chasing down a massive 359-run target in the 2nd ODI in Raipur. The win levelled the three-match series 1-1 and shocked the home crowd.

India batted first and posted 358/5.
Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 105, his maiden ODI century, while Virat Kohli added 102. The pair put together a strong 195-run partnership that set India up for a huge score.

South Africa responded brilliantly. Captain Aiden Markram led the chase with a classy 110. Matthew Breetzke made 68, and young star Dewald Brevis smashed 54 off 34 balls to keep the required rate under control.

Even after losing wickets late, Corbin Bosch (29*) and Keshav Maharaj (10*) held their nerve to finish the chase in the final over. South Africa reached 362/6 in 49.2 overs.

Heavy dew made bowling difficult for India, and their bowlers struggled to grip the ball in the second innings.

Markram was named Player of the Match for his match-winning hundred.
