“The team’s depth in batting and bowling gave them a clear edge over Zimbabwe”

South Africa secured a comfortable five-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in their Super 8 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Zimbabwe batted first and posted 153 for 7 in their 20 overs. Sikandar Raza was the star for Zimbabwe, scoring 73 off 43 balls with four sixes and eight fours. Clive Madande added 26 not out to push the total to a competitive score.

Chasing 154, South Africa reached the target in 17.5 overs, finishing on 154 for 5. Dewald Brevis led the innings with a quick 42 off 18 balls, while Ryan Rickelton contributed 31. George Linde (30 not out) and Tristan Stubbs (21 not out) guided the team home with 13 balls to spare.

Although Sikandar Raza also shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 29 runs, Zimbabwe could not prevent the chase. This win kept South Africa unbeaten in the tournament and confirmed their place in the semi-finals, where they will face New Zealand.
