The 2025 SLC T20 League kicked off in exciting fashion as SLC Greens secured a solid 4-wicket victory against SLC Blues on August 7 at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.
Batting first, the Blues struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 143 runs in their 20 overs. Although some top-order batsmen got starts, Greens’ disciplined bowling attack kept things tight and picked up wickets regularly. The slow pitch worked in favor of the bowlers, helping them limit the scoring and deny the Blues a strong finish.
In response, SLC Greens chased down the target with confidence. Their top and middle-order batsmen played smart, aggressive cricket, reaching 144 for 6 in just 16.5 overs. Quick running between the wickets and clean hitting made it tough for the Blues’ bowlers to slow them down.
This early win gives SLC Greens a strong start in the tournament. With their solid bowling unit and sharp batting display, they’ve set the tone for what promises to be an exciting and competitive T20 League.
