Egypt reached the AFCON 2025 semi-finals after a thrilling 3–2 win over defending champions Ivory Coast in the quarter-final at the Grand Stade d’Agadir.

Egypt started strongly, taking the lead early when Omar Marmoush scored in the 4th minute. Ramy Rabia added a second goal with a header before half-time, giving Egypt a comfortable lead. Ivory Coast fought back with an own goal by Ahmed Abou El Fotouh just before the break, making it 2–1.

Early in the second half, Mohamed Salah restored Egypt’s two-goal cushion with a precise finish from a pass by Emam Ashour. Guela Doue scored for Ivory Coast in the 73rd minute, making it 3–2 and creating a tense finale. Egypt showed strong defence, quick counter-attacks, and determination to hold on for the win.
