“Consistency and determination carried her through the toughest part of the year.”

Elena Rybakina has secured the final spot in the 2025 WTA Finals after a determined run at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, defeating Canada’s Victoria Mboko 6-3, 7-6(4) in the quarterfinals.

This will be her third consecutive appearance at the year-end event. Her recent Ningbo Open title and consistent performances throughout the season helped her overtake Mirra Andreeva in the rankings.

The 2022 Wimbledon champion showed resilience, overcoming injuries and a busy schedule to earn her place among the top eight players.

The WTA Finals, held November 1–8 in Riyadh, will feature top stars including Iga Świątek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, and Rybakina herself.

Ranked world No. 6, she enters the tournament as a strong contender, with her powerful serve, composure under pressure, and late-season form making her a serious threat to lift the trophy.
