“The French champions now move one step closer to defending their European crown”

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have advanced to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 after a dramatic tie against AS Monaco. PSG drew 2-2 in the second leg at the Parc des Princes but progressed 5-4 on aggregate thanks to their 3-2 win in the first leg.

Monaco took the lead in the return match, putting pressure on the defending champions. However, the game changed after Monaco were reduced to 10 men. PSG responded quickly, with Marquinhos scoring the equalizer before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave the hosts the lead in the second half. Monaco managed a late goal, but PSG held on to secure qualification.

Head coach Luis Enrique praised his team’s resilience and said their recent tough matches have prepared them well for the knockout stages. PSG will now wait for the Round of 16 draw, where they could face strong opponents such as Barcelona or Chelsea.

The French giants continue their quest to defend their Champions League title as they move one step closer to the latter stages of the competition.
