“Strong defense and timely scoring proved to be the difference for Miami in the closing minutes.”

The Miami Heat defeated the Detroit Pistons 118–112 in an NBA regular-season game on Thursday night. Norman Powell delivered an excellent performance, scoring 36 points and making seven three-pointers to lead Miami to victory.

The Heat controlled most of the game, building a strong lead in the second half after a fast start. Detroit attempted a late comeback, cutting the deficit in the final minutes, but Miami stayed calm and closed out the game with solid defense and key free throws.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 19 points off the bench, while Bam Adebayo added 15 points and 14 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins also contributed with 17 points as Miami earned its fourth straight win.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 31 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds, while Marcus Sasser added 18 points. Despite their effort, Detroit could not overcome Miami’s early lead.

The Heat will look to continue their winning form in their next game.
