“Pakistan produced a historic performance to end South Africa’s 10-match Test winning streak.”

Pakistan defeated South Africa by 93 runs in the first Test of their two-match series in Lahore. The victory ended South Africa’s 10-match winning streak in Test cricket.

Pakistan set a target of 277 runs. Dewald Brevis scored 54 and Ryan Rickelton made 45, but the Proteas fell short, bowled out for 183. Noman Ali dominated with 10 wickets in the match. Shaheen Shah Afridi added 4 wickets in the second innings to dismantle the lower order.

Imam-ul-Haq led Pakistan’s batting with 93 runs. Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha stabilized the innings with important unbeaten half-centuries. Their efforts gave Pakistan a competitive total and put pressure on the South African batsmen.

This win gave Pakistan their first Test victory over South Africa and moved them past India in the World Test Championship standings. The second Test will take place on October 20 in Rawalpindi. Pakistan will look to maintain their momentum and secure the series win.
