“Jofra Archer’s fiery spell gave England brief hope, but their batting collapse left too much to defend.”
New Zealand sealed the ODI series with a commanding five-wicket win over England at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
England struggled with the bat and were dismissed for 175 runs against disciplined bowling. Blair Tickner, recalled to the side, starred with four wickets, supported well by Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner.
Chasing the target, Rachin Ravindra made a composed 54, while Daryl Mitchell guided the innings with an unbeaten 56. Santner added a quick 34 not out as New Zealand cruised home in 33.1 overs.
Jofra Archer impressed for England with three wickets, but the rest of the attack lacked support. England’s batting collapse continued their poor run in the one-day format.
The victory gave New Zealand an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, underlining their balance and dominance at home.
