“The Black Caps showed complete control in home conditions to wrap up the series.”
New Zealand wrapped up a solid 3–1 T20 series win over the West Indies. They claimed an eight-wicket victory in the final match at the University Oval in Dunedin.
The West Indies struggled early in the deciding game. Jacob Duffy produced a superb opening spell and reduced them to 21/4. He took 4 for 35 and kept constant pressure on the top order. Romario Shepherd tried to fight back, but the innings ended at 140 in 18.4 overs.
New Zealand made the chase look easy. Devon Conway anchored the innings with an unbeaten 47. Tim Robinson added a quick 45 off 24 balls. They reached 141/2 in just 15.4 overs.
Rain washed out the 4th T20, but New Zealand had already taken control by winning the first and third games. Jacob Duffy claimed 10 wickets in the series and won the Player of the Series award for his impact with the new ball.
The victory shows New Zealand’s strong form in home conditions. The West Indies will now focus on regrouping for the upcoming ODI series.
