“Moon Shines Brighter Than Ever with a Historic Third Straight World Title!”

American pole vaulter Katie Moon has made history by winning her third consecutive world championship in the women’s pole vault at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

Moon secured the gold medal with a season-best vault of 4.90 meters, narrowly defeating fellow American Sandi Morris, who cleared 4.85 meters, and Slovenia’s Tina Sutej, who took bronze with a 4.80-meter clearance. This victory makes Moon the first woman in history to win three consecutive world titles in pole vault.

At 34 years old, Moon also became the oldest woman to win a world pole vault title, showcasing exceptional longevity and consistency at the highest level.

This historic win adds to Moon’s remarkable achievements, including a gold medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and a shared gold at the 2023 World Championships. Her performance solidifies her legacy as one of the greatest pole vaulters of all time.
