Kamindu Mendis made a brilliant start to his ILT20 career by winning the Player of the Match award in MI Emirates’ seven-wicket win over Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at the Zayed Cricket Stadium. The Sri Lankan all-rounder played a key role in his team’s dominant performance.
Mendis impressed with the ball, taking three important wickets that helped restrict Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to 122 runs in 19.3 overs. His spell stopped the opposition from building partnerships and shifted the momentum towards MI Emirates.
